However, even the least amount of flying time that a consumer could purchase with these cards represents a substantial investment.

Consumers can also invest in fractional ownership of a private jet. Again, the initial investment for this alternative can be substantial, and hidden costs may be included, such as maintenance fees. A fee may also be charged if the consumer chooses to leave the group of partial owners. Fractional ownership is also a less flexible alternative than chartering as the jet may not be available when needed if another owner is using it.
