Yes, Its finally out! All those iPhone 2G users using windows, its now time for you to smile. You will now be able to unlock you iPhone 2G using windows ( XP and Vista, Not sure about Windows 7 ) straight away without any complication.

PwnageTool 3.1 was only available from Mac users, but The Dev team has a done a very good job earlier this week by releasing the PwnageTool 3.1 for windows, So windows users can now feel it fair and just.

This is what the Dev Team says :- 

We created the custom IPSW for Firmware 3.1 on iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G which lets you update without having to meddle with the baseband. This Firmware comes with the stock Apple logo and Cydia. All you have to do is download it, restore it and that’s it.

How to Unlock iPhone 2G Firmware 3.1 :-

Step #2 :-

Before proceeding to unlock your iPhone 2G, you will have to join the 3 files you downloaded using HJSplit. Once You have joined the 3 files, extract the zip archive to get Custom IPSW as one single file.

Step #3 :-

1. Download and Install iTunes 9.
2. Next, Connect your iPhone to your Desktop ( PC ) or Laptop.
3. Now Hold the Shift key and Click on ‘Restore’ Button and then select custom IPSW. ( Make sure not to ‘Update’ the Firmware at any step, only use the ‘Restore’ feature. )

Thats All! You have done with everything without no complications, As no ultrasnow / Ultrasn0w was needed.Therefore, No Bootloader files will be required.

Note :- If you are using MAC, Then use “The unarchiver” Instead of HJsplit to Join and extract the archive.
