Recently I came have come across a very interesting piece of information which I think must be know to everyone.
Hiding files in your hard disk is quite easy. The most popularly used techniques include changing the attributes of the file or by using file hiding software’s. Both ways are not safe because file attributes can easily be changed and the software can be viewed by an outsider thus causing suspicious. However there is a more efficient way of hiding files and this can be done by hiding a file inside any JPG picture file !

This way of hiding files is quite easy because you don’t have to bother with the encryption and also multiple files can be hidden in one picture itself !

Requirements
* WinRAR or WinZip must be installed on your computer
Download WinRAR (32 bit) 3.8
Download WinZip 12.1 Evaluation version

Hide File in Picture

1. Create a folder in your hard drive i.e C:\test. Move all your files to be hidden in that folder along with the picture

2.Select all the files you want to hide and right-click. Choose on the function which will compress the files together to make a RAR or ZIP file. Most important of all, DO NOT select the picture

3.Now you should have a folder that looks something like this with files, a JPG image, and a compressed archive:

5. Now here’s comes something interesting ! Click on Start > Run. Type “cmd” in the box without quotes. Command prompt will open up  Type in “CD \” to get to the root directory. Then type CD and the directory name that you created, i.e. “CD Test“.

6. Type in the following line: “copy /b DSC06578.JPG + Hidden.rar DSC06578.jpg” and press Enter. Do not use the quotes. You should get a response like below:

And that’s it! The picture file will get updated with the compressed archive inside! You can actually check the file size of the picture and see that it has increased by the same amount as the size of the archive.

Accessing hidden File

1. Change the picture format to .RAR or .Zip and use the preferred software package

OR

You can simply right click on the picture and choose open with and select the preferred software package.

That’s it! That is all it takes to hide files inside JPG picture files! It’s a great way simply because not many people know it’s possible and no one even thinks about a picture as having to the ability to “hide” files.
